PRECIOUS woodlands will be preserved as part of our vision to construct 157 high quality new homes in a picturesque rural setting.
Genesis Homes has submitted a reserved matters planning application for 157 high-specification homes on land near Cumberland House Clinic, in Carleton, near Carlisle.
The Woodlands development comprising a range of one to five bedroom houses, flats and bungalows will include the conversion of Victorian building Cumberland House into six bespoke apartments.
Genesis Homes’ Managing Director Nicky Gordon said the development would follow a landscape-led approach which included the preservation of the existing surrounding wooded areas.
He added that a distinctive, characterful housing development which is sensitively embedded within the existing landscape would be created.
Mr Gordon said: “The landscape and biodiversity is vitally important to Genesis Homes, and throughout the planning and design stages we consider what positive impacts all our developments could have on their surroundings.
“The Woodlands development is something we are incredibly excited about as we will be creating a large number of high quality homes which will be in keeping with the glorious landscape of the area.
“What this new development will create is an attractive and sustainable new community in an exceptional rural landscape, with the added benefit of being located on the outskirts of Carlisle.
“The Woodlands will enable residents to benefit from immediate access to much sought-after amenity open space and, through the preservation of the woodlands, the development will enhance wildlife and habitats at the same time.”
The Woodlands development is proposed close to the planned St Cuthbert’s Garden Village, and it is hoped the creation of the new developments will boost the local economy significantly.
The development includes several affordable housing opportunities, and its design will feature three character areas which offer different house types and street scenes.
Genesis Homes prides itself on providing exceptional specification in all its homes, which results in lower fuel bills, lower maintenance costs and fewer repairs.
All its new builds are more efficient and greener than other homes, with 100 per cent energy efficient lighting and smart energy meters among the many environment friendly features.
The Woodlands development builds on the growing portfolio of developments from Genesis Homes following the recent launch of developments at Rheda North Park, in Whitehaven, Farries Field, in Stainburn, and Lonsdale Park, Hackthorpe.
