An experienced joiner has become Genesis Homes’ milestone 500th customer after experiencing for himself the high quality of build of our homes.
Kev Walker said that he was convinced to buy a home from us after being so impressed with the standard of our houses whilst working on one of our developments.
By purchasing a three-bed detached Derwent house type at Eamont Chase in Penrith, Kev became our 500th homeowner.
He received £500 worth of vouchers and a bottle of champagne to celebrate the landmark achievement in Genesis Homes’ journey.
Kev, who now also works as a firefighter in Whitehaven, said: “As a joiner for 30 years, I’ve worked on houses from all the homebuilders in Cumbria and I’m not shy to say that it was a no-brainer for me to go with Genesis Homes when I was looking to buy a new build for me and my three children.
“Anybody who knows me will tell you that I’m a perfectionist, and Genesis Homes has the highest quality of build I’ve seen. Their homes are well-designed, everything is done to a high standard, and the layout of the homes is great and not too crammed, which is perfect for the kids who need more space now they’re older.
“I had originally bought a house in nearby Frenchfield to do up myself, but my circumstances changed so I reassessed things, and I couldn’t be happier that I’ve found the perfect family home where everything is finished and I can relax and be happy with the kids.”
Genesis Homes was founded in 2017 and has constructed new homes throughout Cumbria and North Lancashire. We have completed eight housing developments and are on course to hit our target of building more than 300 homes each year by 2028.
Our Managing Director, Nicky Gordon, presented the housewarming gifts to Kev alongside Ashley Conlan, the company’s Sales Executive at Eamont Chase.

“To achieve our 500th completion ahead of schedule, particularly after riding the waves of disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, is something the team is rightly proud of, and we’re delighted to welcome Kev and his family to their dream home at our Eamont Chase development.

As a thank you for playing their part in reaching the milestone 500th completion, each member of staff at Genesis Homes received a £500 bonus.
Genesis Homes has homes available at Eamont Chase near Penrith and at its developments in Stainburn, Lazonby, Kendal, and Halton, in Lancashire. It will commence construction on new homes in Carlisle, Etterby, Kirkby Lonsdale, Seaton, and Burgh by Sands before the end of 2024.
