Genesis Homes is pleased to announce today the acquisition of Russell Armer Homes.
The acquisition brings together two of the North West’s leading housing developers. The acquisition and sale is of great pride and satisfaction to the principals of both businesses in their personal plans for the future.
Genesis Homes has created a formidable identity in its developments in west and north Cumbria and naturally placed its strategic targets on growth into South Lakes and North Lancashire as it continues its business plan to a regional developer.
Nicky Gordon, Genesis Managing Director, said ‘I have long respected the Russell Armer business and the way Martyn and Andrew have led the business. I have got to know Martyn and Andrew well over the past few years and everything I have seen and identified in the business and its team is of the highest quality and I am delighted that Martyn and Andrew have passed the baton so to speak to me and my Genesis colleagues.
‘Genesis is a business which continues to grow with its sights set on delivery regionally across Cumbria and Lancashire and this acquisition provides that platform for delivery. I wish to place on record my thanks to Martyn and Andrew for their support throughout, both in my time growing Genesis and the professional industry support they gave to me and particularly over the past months as we worked together to make this happen. I wish them a great retirement’.
The Russell Armer business has been synonymous with house building in Cumbria and Lancashire for the past 60 years and has been notably led by Martyn Nicholson and Andrew Taylor throughout much of the last 35 years. With the opportunity to see continued development of the Russell Armer business in the years to come under the Genesis leadership, the sale creates a new and exciting chapter for the company and its employees.
Martyn commented ‘It has been a great pleasure working for so many years with some fantastic colleagues, consultants, and most importantly our customers all of which have my heartfelt thanks. Together we have created many new communities of character and it is satisfying to know that this will continue in the future.
Andrew noted: ‘Over the past 43 years it has been a pleasure to work with so many different tradesmen and characters on new homes in the south lakes, north Lancashire and the Eden area.
The homes that have been handed to customers have always been to the highest standard and I am sure that the existing team, led by Nicky and new colleagues within Genesis will continue those high standards.’
At present, each company will continue to operate independently, only experiencing minor changes and very much a ‘business as usual’ approach envisaged.
The leadership team led by Nicky Gordon look forward to meeting the full Russell Armer team and continuing the fantastic delivery witnessed over the years.
