Paul Foster has built up a considerable amount of experience and knowledge having worked in the construction industry for over 30 years. Throughout his career, Paul has worked for several London based corporations including Ove Arup and partners on projects for Canary Wharf and ITN productions, as well as various consultants and National home builders, including Bovis Homes, Jones Homes & Keepmoat Homes.
Before deciding to relocate to Cumbria, Paul had been visiting the area with his family for over 15 years, favouring the lifestyle compared to busy city life. Paul’s relocation to Genesis Homes happened very quickly, finding out about the position whilst visiting Penrith. “I received a call from an agent and decided to go for an interview and within a couple of weeks I received a job offer and was getting ready to move to Cumbria”.
Paul has been working for Genesis Homes now for 15 months as Technical Manager and is heavily involved in schemes at Wigton, Brigham, Armathwaite and Cumwhinton, overseeing developments from conception, through the planning stage into build and to completion of the development.
Recently, Paul attended a presentation hosted by Carlisle County Council on tanking systems for basements and met with various other industry experts including Building Control, Architects, Civil Engineers and Ground Workers.
Paul said: “It was a good opportunity to speak to other professionals in the industry and gain some additional knowledge on the latest standards and regulations”.
After the success of the event, Paul is keen to attend other technical seminars and meet more people within the industry. Having recently relocated to the area, Paul said: “It would be great to get some face-to-face meetings with the likes of Cumbria County Council, Highways, United Utilities, ENW and other representatives to discuss our developments and establish relationships with them”.
